Once you download the package from themeforest unzip it

 You'll find these files:

Installing Theme From wordpress dashboard

  1. Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
  2. Click on Appearance, then themes.
  3. Click on Add New button.
  4. Click on Upload theme button
  5. then choose primo.zip from the extracted package, and Click on install now .
  6. After installing the theme, click on Activate link.

Installing Theme From FTP

  1. Upload primo Folder to your host web server inside wp-content/themes path.
  2. Now Access to your wordpress dashboard, then Click on Appearance and click on Themes.
  3. Then Click on Activate link .

After activating the theme, you'll see a notice to install the required plugins, Click on Begin installing plugins and install all plugins

  1. Go to Tools -> Demo Content Install
  2. And click on Install button
  • The best way to update this theme is to use the Envato WordPress Toolkit plugin
    Make sure that you have installed the plugin.
  1. Open your WordPress dashboard, And click on Envato Toolkit
  2. Insert your Marketplace Username and Secret API Key and save changes

    To get your Themeforest API key, Go to themeforest and select Settings from the account dropdown, then navigate to the API Keys tab, and generate your API Key.

  3. Click on Themes Tab to download the theme updates
  1. Download poedit from: http://www.poedit.net/download.php and install it
  2. Go to theme files, and find a folder named languages. ( or open this directory wp-content/themes/primo/languages from your FTP server and download bxdPrimo.po file)
  3. Open bxdPrimo.po with poedit
  4. Start the translation by clicking on the text.
  5. After finishing the translation click on file -> save as and give the new file a name like this structure language_COUNTRY.po, these are some examples:
    • en_UK.po
    • fr_FR.po
    • it_IT.po
  6. And save your new translation ( Two files will be generated .po and .mo ), and upload the two files in the same folder ( languages )
  7. Open your WordPress wp-config.php file and add define ('WPLANG', 'language'); constant, if one doesn’t already exist. ( or replace define ('WPLANG', '') with define ('WPLANG', 'language');) e.g: ( define ('WPLANG', 'en'); )
  • note: The Wordpress installation should be in the language that you want to use in the theme.
  • To setup the home page slideshow, You need to go to Appearance -> Sliders
  • Click on Add new button. Fill the slider options. And click on Create button
  • Add slides images to your slide show and click Save
  • After Creating the slider, You need to create a new page, Select the templateHome Page, And choose the slider you create from the option under wp editor.
  • Then Go to Settings -> Reading. And in Front page displays Option, choose A static page (select below), then in Front page Select the page you have created

  2. Go to Settings -> Reading. And in Posts page: Select the page you have created

To add a portfolio project go to Portfolio -> add new. And fill the project options (title, content, image...)

The default projects page is : http://yourwebsite/project, To change this go to Settings -> Permalink

  • To access the theme settings page go to Appearance -> Theme Settings, This page gives you a lot of options to modify and customize your theme.

  • From the General tab you can change the Favicon, customize the default gravatar, Add a tracking code and more..
  • In the Header Options tab you can customize the logo and show or hide the header social icons
  • In the Footer Options tab you can insert the copyrights text, Phone and Email
  • In the Blog Options tab you can customize the blog page and single post page options
  • In the Portfolio Options tab you can customize the portfolio page and single project page options
  • In the 404 page options tab you can customize the error 404 not found page
  • In the Social Networks tab you can add your social networks profiles links
  • In the SEO tab you can insert the meta description and meta keywords
  • In the Custom CSS tab you can insert a custom css codes
  • In the Styling tab you can customize the theme colors
  • In the Typography tab you can customize the theme fonts
  • When you add or edit a post, page or a portfolio project, You'll find some options to customize your post like the page background image, post format options, sidebar picker and more options..

WordPress use Gravatar service to associate an avatar with a user’s account.

To change your avatar follow these steps:

  1. Open http://gravatar.com and create an account by clicking on Create Your Own Gravatar button, then use the same email that you are using in your wordpress profile
  2. Click on My Gravatars from the top menu
  3. And click on add a new image link, then upload your avatar
  • To change a category or tag page background image, go WordPress dashboard and click on Posts tab, then Categories or Tags, and add or edit the category/tag that you want

  • Go to Tools -> Backup
  • Click on Edit Backup Schedule to create an automated backup schedule
  • Click on Create Full Backup Now to create a full backup immediately
  • Click on Create Content Backup Now to create only content backup immediately

1. Login to your MailChimp account, and create a mailing list for people to sign up for.

2. After you make your list, you'll need to get some code from it. Click on your list, and select Signup forms at the top. Select the Embedded forms option.

3. From there, you should see a text box section labeled Copy/paste onto your site. Within the textbox, scroll until you find the part of the code that says  <form action=”…”  You will need to copy everything with those quotation marks. It should begin with http://, end with a bunch of numbers and letters, and look something like this
